Melamine cabinets – Melamine is a synthetic material commonly used as a laminate to cover the wood or press board in furniture. It is widely used for the cabinet. Over time, melamine covers on your cabinets separate from wood or press board. If your melamine cabinets need repair, correct them as soon as possible to avoid further damage. The repair process is equivalent to repair a raised portion of the top laminate and may be done by any handy homeowner.
Heat edge of melamine in which it is lifted up by means of a heat gun. Keep heat gun approximately 2 inches away from the surface and moving it back and forth across the raised edge of the melamine cabinets. Press the melamine tapered bead seat rims back toward the surface of the wood or press board with your fingers. Tape edge with masking tape to allow the adhesive to reset. Remove the tape after 24 hours. Try to lift the edge of the melamine, where it was repaired. If the melamine respected, you are finished with repairs. If you are able to lift the melamine, continue to the next step.

Lift the edge of melamine up with a spatula. Use contact cement on the surface of the wood or press board and back of the melamine using a natural bristle brush. Remove the putty knife and insert toothpicks between melamine and wood or press board to keep them separate until contact cement dries. Allow the contact cement to dry for 15 to 20 minutes. Remove toothpicks and press melamine firmly against the wood or press board with your fingers. Roll the surface of the melamine cabinets with roller to ensure a secure attachment.
