Because wine is heavy, most wine racks are also designed to carry a lot of weight, and also to keep the wine corks stay moist. This means that the frame should be level and mounted according to the manufacturer’s instructions. Look at the back of the wine rack. If the frame has a solid wood back, you have to mount the cleat of a third or a quarter of the length from the top edge. If the frame has an open back, you may need to mount the cleat on the top edge or where there is substantial enough wood to screw in the fastening system. Measuring a horizontal line level, and mount fixing system looking down at the back of the wine rack. Transfer your height measurements of the wall. Mark where you want the top wine rack to be and how low the cleat is in the back of the rack.  Add rubber bumpers on the bottom corners of the back of the rustic wine rack, if the fastening system will make the rustic wine rack to hang unevenly or tilt forward along the top front.
